Job summary

Hornett Bros & Co Ltd in Rainham, Essex, is seeking a Trainee Process Operator to join our Production Department. You will receive full training in Toll Blending and Process Operating and will work Monday to Friday with a standard 40-hour week.

This role focuses on weighing raw materials, operating plant equipment, completing batch documentation, and helping maintain quality and safety standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience essential.
• Clear and effective communication with team members.
• Previous history in a chemical manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and add raw materials to processes.
• Operate plant machinery including pumps, valves and filters.
• Follow SOPs to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
• Complete batch documentation accurately (computerised or handwritten).
• Run off approved material into drums, IBCs, or bulk tankers.
• Report plant malfunctions promptly to minimise downtime and hazards.
• Maintain and improve quality standards.
• Keep all operating areas clean and tidy.
• Load/unload of lorries and containers using forklift trucks.
• Work in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
• Perform product quality and environmental testing at process stages.
• Carry out monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
