An exciting opportunity has arisen for a trainee plaster technician to join our team of Plaster Room Technicians in our busy Orthopaedic department. Our team handles casting, splinting, and bracing needs, working closely with patients to inform and educate them on their recovery journey.
The trainee Orthopaedic Plaster technician will work alongside other practitioners to provide high-quality orthopaedic and trauma care in the Plaster Room, Theatres, and Emergency Department. The team treats a wide variety of patients, including outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and theatres, for both adults and children. We are recruiting a Band 2 trainee Orthopaedic technician with progression to Band 5 after completing the British Orthopaedic Casting certificate.

Experience (Essential): Paid care experience.
Desirable: Public interfacing experience, previous HCA band 2 experience.
Physical Skills (Essential): Teamwork, flexibility, patient handling, manual dexterity, ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications (Essential): Maths and English Level 1, Level 2 Healthcare Support NVQ, willingness to undertake BCC training, health and safety awareness.
Skills and Knowledge (Essential): Prioritization, communication, empathy, basic IT skills, confidentiality, willingness for further training.
