Job summary

Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks enthusiastic individuals to train as Pharmacy Technicians. The role spans the department’s dispensary, outpatient pharmacy, ward-based clinical service, informatics, stores, procurement, homecare and more across Freeman and RVI sites.

You will attend online college, complete assignments and build a skills portfolio while rotating through clinical and procurement duties, with weekend and late shifts on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

• Attending online college and completing assignments
• Building a skills-based evidence portfolio
• Rotational experience across pharmacy services

Responsibilities

• Dispense and accuracy check medicines safely and effectively
• Undertake ward-based clinical duties including medicines reconciliation and patient counselling
• Assemble prescriptions at ward level and manage stock control of medications
• Rotations across Clinical Trials, Procurement, Inpatient/Outpatient dispensary and clinical areas
