Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust seeks a Rotational Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Royal Stoke. You will gain experience across a range of services, including dispensing controlled drugs from automated cabinets and supporting stock control and medicines optimisation on wards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent experience in either a hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy setting.
• Commitment to professional updating and continuous development.
• Patient counselling skills and ability to advise patients on medicines.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing controlled drugs using electronic registers from automated storage cabinets.
• Providing a controlled drug top up and replenishment services to theatre areas.
• Developing experience with IT Systems including Ascribe, Automated dispensing systems & Prescription Tracking systems.
• Supporting the safe and effective management of medicines through stock control and inventory management.
• Contributing to medicines optimisation services on wards.
• Supporting the training and development of pharmacy staff.

NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or National BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent nationally recognised qualification

National Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification

Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians
