Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is offering a 2-year pre-registration apprenticeship for a Pharmacy Technician, starting February 2027. The role supports the pharmacy team and provides hands-on experience across medicines use, with a Level 4 underpinning knowledge course via a hybrid-delivered programme at a university partner.

You will travel across the Trust, study part-time, and become a core member of the team while working towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 and above, including English language, maths and at least one science subject.
• Customer service experience or working with people.
• Good IT skills and strong communication skills to understand and communicate verbal and written information.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Able to manage time, prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and accuracy check clinically screened prescriptions in line with SOPs.
• Develop skills around reconciling patients' medicines and checking patients' own drugs.
• Support patient-centered care by involving patients and carers in medicines decisions and medicines optimisation relevant to training level.
• One day per week to complete underpinning knowledge learning for the apprenticeship.
