Job summary

Kamsons Pharmacy Saltdean in the Brighton area is recruiting a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant for a busy community pharmacy. You will join a small, friendly team to safely supply medications, give healthcare advice and handle customer interactions throughout the day.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm (one hour unpaid break). Starting pay is up to 12.71 per hour. You will contribute to various tasks including dispensing, NHS data submission, stock control and maintaining accurate patient records.

The job is fast paced- the day really does fly by! You will be involved in different work streams throughout the day as part of a team to achieve our goal of safely supplying medication, healthcare services and advice to our customers and the local community.

Main roles and responsibilities will include:

• Label and dispense prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
• Ordering sufficient medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Assist where necessary with the preparation of monitored dosage systems to benefit patients on multiple medication regimes.
• Accurately check patient declarations on prescriptions and send data correctly to the NHS to ensure maximum payments are received with minimal losses.
• Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
• Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that dispensary and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
• Liaise with local surgeries and other healthcare professionals and handle queries regarding medication supply to ensure patients with medication and healthcare needs are met.
• Participate in the delivery of any additional healthcare services for which you will have received adequate training.
