Kamsons Pharmacy Saltdean is looking for a Trainee Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our busy community pharmacy in the Brighton area.

You will dispense prescriptions, ensure safe medicine storage, manage stock, and support the team in delivering healthcare services with accuracy and care.

Responsibilities

• Label and dispense prescriptions accurately.
• Ensure the safe storage of medicines and correct stock levels.
• Order medication and check dates to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Create and update patient medication records with confidentiality.
• Assist with preparation of monitored dosage systems for multiple meds.
• Check patient declarations and communicate data to NHS for payments.
• Process invoices and paperwork per procedures.
• Keep dispensary and back shop tidy and clean.

Position 1 : Monday & Tuesday 9am – 6pm (with a one hour unpaid break)

Position 2 : Monday to Friday 12pm-5pm

Starting of pay: Up to 12.71 per hour.
The job is fast paced- the day really does fly by! You will be involved in different work streams throughout the day as part of a team to achieve our goal of safely supplying medication, healthcare services and advice to our customers and the local community.

Main roles and responsibilities will include:

• Label and dispense prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
• Ordering sufficient medication and stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and date/usage checking to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Create and update patient medication records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Assist where necessary with the preparation of monitored dosage systems to benefit patients on multiple medication regimes.
• Accurately check patient declarations on prescriptions and send data correctly to the NHS to ensure maximum payments are received with minimal losses.
• Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
• Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties so that dispensary and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Work as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives.
• Liaise with local surgeries and other healthcare professionals and handle queries regarding medication supply to ensure patients with medication and healthcare needs are met.
• Participate in the delivery of any additional healthcare services for which you will have received adequate training.
