Job summary

VolkerHighways, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Trainee Operative to join our Traffic Management team in Wokingham. You will work with direct labour and subcontract labour to meet targets, operating traffic lights and plant where trained and certified.

Ideal candidates will have highways or reactive maintenance experience, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors. NHSS 12D M1/2 and NHSS 12 A/B certifications are required.

• Previous highways or reactive maintenance experience.
• Good communication skills and the ability to use initiative.
• Enjoys working outdoors and adapts to outdoor conditions.
• NHSS 12D M1/2 and NHSS 12 A/B certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate traffic lights and plant equipment, with training and certification.
• Coordinate direct labour and subcontract labour to meet targets and deadlines.
• Assist with traffic management duties across sites.

About the role

We have a superb opportunity for a Trainee Operative to join our Traffic Management business, based out of our Wokingham Depot.

Responsible for working with both the direct labour and sub-contract labour, meeting targets and deadlines on time. These include the operation of Traffic Lights and plant, where trained and certificated with the addition of various other aspects of Traffic Management.
