Job summary

VolkerHighways is seeking a Trainee Operative to join our Traffic Management team at the Wokingham Depot. You will work alongside direct labour and sub-contract labour, meeting targets and deadlines on time, and operate traffic lights and plant once trained and certificated.

The ideal candidate will have highways or reactive maintenance experience, strong communication, and the ability to use initiative while outdoors.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways or reactive maintenance.
• Good communication and ability to use initiative.
• Outdoor work and safety awareness; NHSS qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate traffic lights and plant once trained and certificated.
• Work with direct labour and sub-contract labour to meet targets and deadlines.
• Support traffic management activities at the Wokingham Depot.

About the role

We have a superb opportunity for a Trainee Operative to join our Traffic Management business, based out of our Wokingham Depot.

Responsible for working with both the direct labour and sub-contract labour, meeting targets and deadlines on time. These include the operation of Traffic Lights and plant, where trained and certificated with the addition of various other aspects of Traffic Management.
