InterGen is offering a 2-year fixed term Trainee Operations Technician position at Coryton Power Station in Essex, United Kingdom. The role provides a structured training programme to develop skills for operating a modern power station safely and efficiently, with mentorship and progression opportunities.
The candidate will learn to operate, monitor and supervise plant equipment, support start-ups/shutdowns, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams while adhering to HSE standards.

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x new Trainee Operations Technicians to join our team at Coryton Power Station on a 2 year-fixed term contract. We are expanding our Operations team to strengthen our technical capability and support the long-term performance of our recently upgraded plant.
The Coryton team are a group of highly skilled individuals focused on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective energy. We manage the operations and maintenance of our Combined Cycle Power Plant, striving for high reliability and continuous improvement through our team mindset, knowledge, skills, and passion. Our goal is to deliver sustainable generation and become a flexible, effective, and reliable power plant to support a diverse yet connected electricity supply system.

You will complete a structured training and competency programme to develop the skills required to operate a modern power station safely and efficiently, and set you up for success to be able to confidently:
As our new Trainee Operations Technician, you'll be technically minded, eager to learn and interested in developing a long-term career within the power generation industry. Ideally, you'll have a basic understanding of process engineering within mechanical or electrical disciplines. You have a strong commitment and understanding of health, safety and environmental standards alongside good problem solving and fault-finding abilities. Collaboration is key - you work well across disciplines and bring strong communication and teamwork skills, however you're also able to eventually work unsupervised and take responsibility in a dynamic, operational environment that helps keep Coryton running smoothly.
Minimum of Level 2 Engineering
This position will best suit a college level student at the end of 2nd year studying any Engineering discipline OR, at least 1 year in power generation industry operations and maintenance, or related heavy industry
