Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd. is recruiting a Trainee Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering organisation working in the wastewater and renewable energy sectors. The role offers structured training, mentorship and hands-on experience across mechanical design, documentation, inspections and project support.

You will work within an experienced team to develop skills, gain exposure to CAD, drawings, layouts and supplier liaison, with a view to starting a long-term engineering career.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently completed a T Level, Apprenticeship, or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Passionate about engineering, design and manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software is advantageous.
• Eager to learn and develop technical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Organised with good time management.
• Positive attitude and desire to build a long-term career in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical component design and specifications.
• Create and update drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Support equipment layouts, lifting arrangements and inspections.
• Compile technical reports and project documentation.
• Obtain supplier quotations for repairs and parts.
• Support material ordering and project administration.
• Learn engineering standards, health and safety, and quality procedures.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes.
