Job summary

Nuvo Hiring is seeking a CAD Technician to join our growing engineering team delivering wastewater treatment and environmental projects across the UK. You’ll produce technical drawings and support delivery from concept through to construction, using AutoCAD for 2D and 3D work and developing layouts for civil works.

Ideally, you’ll hold a Civil Engineering degree or relevant qualification, with around two years’ CAD or design experience, and a good understanding of civil engineering principles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering qualification.
• Approximately two years’ experience in a CAD, civil engineering or design role.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• Understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and survey information.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop layouts for pipework, drainage, chambers and civil works.
• Create general arrangement drawings, sections and construction packages.
• Interpret topographical surveys, site information and existing drawings.
• Assist with hydraulic design calculations and engineering design work.
• Prepare drawings for construction teams and subcontractors.
• Support engineers with design development and project delivery.
• Update drawings reflecting site changes and revisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients and contractors.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting with hydraulic design calculations and engineering design work.

• Supporting engineers with design development and project delivery.
• Updating drawings to reflect site changes and design revisions.
• Working closely with engineers, project managers, clients and contractors.
• Maintaining accurate drawing records and project documentation.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in engineering design and a desire to learn and develop.

Ideally you’ll have:

• A Civil Engineering degree or relevant engineering qualification.
• Around two years’ experience in a CAD, civil engineering or design role.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• A solid understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and survey information.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

It would be advantageous if you have experience or knowledge of:

• Wastewater, drainage, water or environmental engineering.
• Hydraulic calculations and flow design.
• Pipe sizing, levels and hydraulic profiles.
