The Role
As a Trainee Maths Teacher, you'll join a structured training programme in a Birmingham secondary school, working with experienced teachers while gradually taking on more classroom responsibility. From day one, you’ll support lessons, deliver small group sessions, and learn how to plan, teach, and assess confidently. You'll be mentored by senior staff and, if successful, move into a salaried teacher training route leading to QTS.
The Candidate
You’re a recent maths graduate (or on track to graduate by summer 2025), confident with GCSE and A-Level content. You’ve got strong communication skills and a genuine passion for education. Maybe you’ve tutored before, worked with young people, or just want to turn your academic strengths into a meaningful career. You’re resilient, committed, and ready to train on the job.
The School
This ambitious and inclusive Central Birmingham secondary school is committed to growing its own teachers. It has a strong maths department, a robust mentoring system, and a track record of successfully training graduates into qualified teachers. You’ll be part of a dynamic staff team that values development, structure, and support.
If you’re serious about becoming a teacher and want a direct path into the profession—without the debt of a traditional PGCE—apply now.
