Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Management Accountant Trainee to support the Finance Manager and Management Accountant in delivering robust financial reporting across sites.

The role emphasizes analysis, budget preparation, and use of Excel, Power BI, and ESR payroll; training on Oracle/Access may be provided. The post is based in Southend-on-Sea with a salary of £25,272 per year (pro rata for part time).

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Mathematics & English) at grade C/4 or above.
• Knowledge of finance procedures and reporting processes.
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production of timely financial performance reports for Site/Departments.
• Ensure income and expenditure are accurately reported in financial statements.
• Support staffing changes and recruitment cost approvals in a timely manner.
• Perform analysis using Power BI, pivot tables, and related tools to keep reports up to date.
• Provide financial advice to budget holders and external customers as needed.
• Contribute to budget preparation and validation of staff in post.
