Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for a Trainee Management Accountant in Wolverhampton. You will support day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, month-end reporting and financial administration. This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will develop skills in ACCA/CIMA pathways and gain practical experience with Excel and accounting software such as Sage or Xero.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts or finance administration.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Sage/Xero or similar accounting software.
• ACCA or CIMA studies, or willingness to work towards qualification.
• Manufacturing/engineering experience beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable/receivable reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end procedures, journals and management accounts.
• Assist VAT returns and financial reporting.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding finance queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with financial analysis and process improvements.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

• Supporting VAT returns and financial reporting
• Liaising with customers and suppliers regarding finance queries
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with financial analysis and process improvements

About You

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and organisational skills
• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
• ACCA or CIMA studies, or an intention to work towards a professional qualification, would be advantageous

Manufacturing or engineering experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
