Job summary

SF Partners in Wolverhampton is seeking a Management Accountant (Manufacturing) to join on a full-time, on-site basis. The role is currently temporary to permanent and based five days a week in the office, reporting to the Finance Manager.

The candidate should be part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with strong management accounting fundamentals, excellent Excel skills and a proactive, hands-on approach within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified – ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Strong Excel skills with large data sets, lookups, pivot tables and formulas.
• Proficient in accruals, prepayments, journals, reconciliations and trial balance work.
• Solid month-end understanding and accounting fundamentals.
• Able to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post accruals and prepayments.
• Support the month-end close and preparation of management accounts.
• Review and maintain the trial balance.
• Prepare journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with VAT returns and related reporting.
• Investigate variances and provide financial insights to the business.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Utilise Excel to analyse data.
• Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting.
• Provide support across the finance team as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial controls and records.

Management Accountant - Manufacturing

Wolverhampton

We're recruiting for a Management Accountant to join an established manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this is a hands-on role offering plenty of exposure across the finance function and the wider business.

We're open to candidates who are part-qualified or fully qualified and are looking for someone with strong management accounting fundamentals, excellent Excel skills and a practical, proactive approach.

The role

• Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
• Supporting the month-end close and preparation of management accounts
• Reviewing and maintaining the trial balance
• Preparing journals and carrying out balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with VAT returns and related reporting
• Investigating variances and providing useful financial information to the business
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and other management reporting activities
• Using Excel extensively to analyse and manipulate financial data
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc analysis and reporting
• Providing support across the wider finance team when required
• Helping to maintain accurate financial controls, processes and records

About you

You'll ideally have previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance role, with a good understanding of month-end processes and accounting fundamentals.

You will be:

• Part-qualified or qualified - ACCA, CIMA or ACA
• Confident with Excel, including working with large data sets, lookups, pivot tables and formulas
• Comfortable with accruals, prepayments, journals, reconciliations and trial balance work
• Accurate, organised and able to work to month-end deadlines
• A strong communicator who is comfortable working with both finance and non-finance colleagues
• Happy working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• A team player who is willing to support across the finance function when needed
