Job summary

Steeper Group invites applications for a Trainee Maintenance Technician based in Leeds. You will train alongside a Maintenance Technician, gaining hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance while undertaking a Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician – Dual Discipline apprenticeship.

As you progress, you will take on more maintenance activities with greater independence, contributing to planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement

• Hands-on approach with attention to detail and logical problem-solving.

• Basic computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Willingness to undertake technical training and progress to Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities

• Learn site machinery, production equipment and systems with Maintenance Technician.
• Document maintenance knowledge and support continuity within maintenance.
• Plan and perform scheduled and preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with maintenance trackers and reporting of defects or breakdowns.
• Develop fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical domains.
• Assist with repairs to production equipment and facilities.
• Read equipment manuals and schematics where applicable.
• Support energy-efficiency and utilities monitoring as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records electronically and on paper.
