Job summary

Barbour Factory in South Shields is seeking Trainee Machinists to learn the craft of making our wax jackets. You’ll operate a range of sewing machines and materials, building skills while upholding Barbour’s renowned quality and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Competence in garment construction.
• Ability to perform detailed garment finishing accurately.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Good eye for detail and accuracy.
• Able to meet production targets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Meet productivity targets for garment making according to schedule.
• Safely operate and handle machines per procedures and training.
• Report defective equipment to Team Leader and maintain workspace.
• Meet quality standards and aim for right first time.
• Follow Company Safety Policy and Induction Training guidelines.
