Job summary

Kinetic plc in the Longridge area of Preston is seeking a semi-skilled machinist to join a busy machine shop. The role focuses on assembling, using CNC machinery, reading drawings and metalwork tasks.

Training will be provided to progress to a fully skilled CNC Press Brake Operator, with a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, and an hourly rate between £12.75 and £13.50 depending on experience. This temp-to-perm position offers progression for motivated workers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment or assembly work.
• Able to read technical drawings and use hand tools.
• Willingness to learn and progress to CNC Press Brake operations.

Responsibilities

• Using hand tools and performing general assembly tasks.
• Reading from technical drawings to assemble sheet metal components.
• Moving pallets and handling light/heavy items as required.
• Operating machinery for folding and bending of sheet metal.

As a semi-skilled machinist you will be:

• Using Hand Tools
• Some heavy lifting may also be required
• Reading from technical drawings
• Assembling sheet metal
• General Assembly work
• Moving pallets (using hand held lifts)
• Use of machinery in the folding and bending of sheet metal

I am looking for punctual, reliable person to start this job, suitable candidates will have worked in a manufacturing environment previously doing assembly or operating machines.

This role is a trainee Press Brake Operator position so full training from an experienced machinist will be given, candidates must have the desire to learn and the hunger to succeed in becoming a Press Brake Operator.
