Job summary

Orona UK in London is seeking a motivated Trainee / Service & Repairs Mate to join our Service and Repairs team. You will work with experienced engineers, gaining practical experience while developing the technical knowledge to progress within the business.

This role offers hands-on training, career development in lift engineering, full-time hybrid work, and a supportive environment with clear progression paths toward lift-industry qualifications.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Interest in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Good timekeeping and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instruction.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• A qualification in electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering is an advantage.
• This role is ideal for someone starting their engineering career and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service and Repairs Engineers with planned maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on lift systems.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Assist with replacement of lift components, including mechanical and electrical parts.
• Identify and report faults, damaged equipment, safety concerns and parts required.
• Support engineers in keeping plant rooms, lift pits, car tops and work areas clean and organised.
• Transport, unload and manage tools, equipment and replacement parts.
• Use tools and equipment correctly, following training and instruction.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures and wear PPE.
