Job summary

Orona UK in Glasgow, United Kingdom is offering a Trainee Lift Engineer position. You will be trained by our experienced Lift Engineers and the Technical Department to learn the company requirements and industry needs, with progression toward an NVQ Level 3 in Installation or Maintenance of Lifts.

Candidates should have Mechanical or Electrical backgrounds, with Level 2 courses or a BTEC Level 3 Diploma as preferred qualifications. A full UK driving licence is required for field training.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical background demonstrated either through Education or through recent work experience.
• Level 2 Foundation Course in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Receive training from experienced Lift Engineers and Technical Department.
• Learn and understand company requirements and industry standards.
• Pursue NVQ Level 3 course in Installation or Maintenance of Lifts based on progress.

The Role

We have an opportunity for candidates with Mechanical/Electrical Engineering backgrounds to join our growing organisation. We are looking for Mechanical or Electrical Engineers for our Glasgow/Edinburgh area who are looking for the first or next step in their career, Orona's Transferable Skills Programme will help you to gain the knowledge and experience to work as an independent Lift Engineer.

You will be trained by our experienced Lift Engineers and Technical Department to learn and understand the company and requirements of our industry. Depending on your learning progress, you will then be enrolled for the NVQ level 3 course within either the Installation or Maintenance of Lifts.

What We're Looking For

Mechanical or Electrical background demonstrated either through Education or through recent work experience

• Ideally possess one of the following;
• Level 2 Foundation Course in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering,
• Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations
• BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering
• The ability to follow instructions and ensuring safety guidelines are followed at all time
• Demonstrate a willingness to develop and learn new skills
