Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Intermodal Transport Operator to join our successful Transport department based in East Midlands Gateway. As the Trainee Intermodal Transport Operator, you will be trained to support our Transport Operators / Planners with the day-to-day operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Booking containers in and out of the container yard, remaining polite and courteous to all customers, colleagues, and drivers.
• Ensure all release/acceptance information is entered into the system accurately and promptly.
• Actively audit release/acceptances to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure all container numbers are correctly recorded both in and out of the system.
• Utilize CCTV when booking in/out for recording purposes.
• Seek additional work from current customers and management whenever possible.
• Communicate effectively with customers, understand requirements, and provide accurate information on time.
• Work effectively within a team and communicate requirements clearly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, including your workstation and environment.
• Follow health and safety standards and report observations or concerns.

Candidate requirements:

• Previous experience in Transport or a similar environment – preferred but not essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly personable with the ability to work well in a team.
