Job description

Our client provides door-to-door logistic solutions for air, road, and sea freight services for both imports and exports covering worldwide destinations. They are currently looking for a trainee Import Clerk to join their operations team. The role will mainly involve working within air and road freight, but some sea freight will also be needed for their customers, so training will be provided in all aspects, including customs entries.

Duties will include:
  1. Processing bookings for air, road, and sea freight.
  2. Document processing.
  3. Coordinating import customs clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  4. Maintaining high service levels for all customers and proactively resolving queries.
  5. Liaising with air/shipping lines and transport companies.
  6. Liaising with port health.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high standard of education, ideally to graduation level. Experience in data entry with strong attention to detail is essential, as accuracy is key in this role. Ideally, some experience in logistics is preferred, although this is not essential for the right candidate, but a keen interest in working within the freight industry is required.

A generous salary of £26/28k is offered for the right candidate along with company benefits, including 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays, as well as additional benefits such as a pension scheme.
