Job summary

Balance Education Limited is seeking a trainee HGV/Heavy Vehicle Mechanics Tutor in Leicester. This role blends hands-on workshop training with classroom delivery, and includes full teacher training and ongoing support.

You will draw on extensive industry experience to mentor apprentices, presenting real‑world context while following a provided curriculum. The position is Monday to Friday, permanent and full‑time, with a salary of £37,500–£42,500 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle mechanics.
• At least 5 years experience as an HGV/Heavy Vehicle mechanic or technician in the industry.
• A keen interest to work in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide theory and practical training to HGV/Heavy Vehicle apprentice learners in both workshop and classroom environments.
• Curriculum, facilities and lesson planning is provided. You will be using your knowledge and experience to present and demonstrate topics and will be encouraged to share your industry experiences to give real world industry context.
• Monday to Friday; Permanent - Full-time.

This is a trainee Heavy Vehicle / HGV Mechanics Tutor post for a qualified and experienced HGV / Heavy Vehicle Technician/Mechanic. No teaching experience is required for this post and full teacher training and support is provided.

Balance Education is currently working with a client based in Leicester that is looking for Tutors to teach apprentice learners. Our client is willing to take on a qualified Heavy Vehicle/HGV mechanic/technician with industry experience and support them with teacher training.
