Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Trainee Health and Safety Business Partner to support a robust safety culture across Halfords Garages, Retail and Mobile Experts. The role covers Southwest England and South Wales, with NEBOSH study support and future development in health and safety.

You will conduct audits, investigations and provide expert guidance, while engaging with stakeholders and enforcing agencies. Regular travel and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or ambition to complete with company support.
• Proven record promoting a positive health and safety culture.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake audits and workplace/area inspections to identify improvements in health & safety management practices and standards.
• Provide written reports and monthly summaries to support safety improvements across Halfords.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, significant events and safety concerns to identify root causes and preventative measures.
• Provide competent and expert advice on health & safety matters as needed.
• Prioritise and respond to safety concerns from colleagues, contractors and visitors.
• Liaise with enforcement agencies with senior leadership.
• Contribute to training materials covering risk assessments, safe procedures, manual handling, traffic management, wellbeing, PUWER, LOLER, etc.
• Support effective relationships with directors, managers, colleagues, unions and contractors.
• Promote and raise awareness of good practice throughout the Halfords Group.
