Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or nearing completion (1 year left)

Responsibilities

This permanent Trainee/Graduate Quantity Surveyor position with Amida in Kent offers a salary of £28,000 to £32,000 plus package. Working under a time-served Commercial Manager alongside existing commercial staff, the successful candidate supports financial management of construction projects while training or studying toward a formal qualification. Duties include tracking costs, managing budgets and administering contracts from pre-contract stages to final account settlement. The role involves preparing project budgets, cost plans and interim valuations, sending enquiries, evaluating quotes and setting up subcontractor orders. Gathering site records to draft client documentation also forms part of the work.

A permanent contract with structured development is offered. My client who have a graduate programme within their company for the last 6 years are now looking for their next Graduate/Trainee Quantity Surveyor, to work under the guise of a time served Commercial Manager and work closely with other existing commercial team members.

Duties and responsibilities

• Support the commercial and financial management of construction projects, while qualified, training or studying toward a formal qualification.
• Assist the commercial team in tracking costs, managing budgets, and administering contracts from pre-contract stages through to final account settlement.
• Assist with preparing project budgets, cost plans, and interim valuations.
• Help send out enquiries, evaluate quotes, and set up subcontractor orders.
• Facilitate in gathering site records to draft client valuations and applications for payments.
• Help track project variations, early warning notices, and compensation events under contracts like JCT or NEC.
• Maintain commercial files, input data into internal financial systems, and assist with monthly margin reports.
