Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is seeking a Trainee Financial Planner to join either Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. You will support financial planners by managing a portfolio of existing clients and assisting with proposals and engagement documents.

This developmental role offers exposure to technical planning, research across investments, pensions, protection and estate planning, and opportunities to build client relationships.

Qualifications

• Working towards, or holding, relevant financial planning qualifications.
• Good understanding of financial planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with planners, paraplanners and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Planners in managing a portfolio of existing clients.
• Assist with the delivery of ongoing financial planning services.
• Provide support on ad hoc advice requests and planning issues arising from client relationships.
• Help prepare client meeting documentation and follow-up actions.
• Assist with annual review processes and client servicing activities.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Gather and analyse client information.
• Assist in preparing suitability reports, recommendations and planning documentation.
• Support research activities across investment, pension, protection and estate planning.
• Progress client work by liaising with paraplanners and client support teams.
• Identify and develop opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Prepare proposals, engagement documents and presentations.
• Participate in networking and internal referrals; build relationships across the business.
• Ensure activities comply with FCA requirements and internal policies.
