Job summary

Forvis Mazars is seeking a Trainee Financial Planner to support the financial planning team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will assist in managing client portfolios, help deliver ongoing planning services, and prepare proposal and engagement documents.

You will gather information, support suitability reports, and contribute to business development while ensuring compliance with FCA requirements and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Working towards or holding financial planning qualifications.
• Good understanding of financial planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with planners and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Planners in managing a portfolio of existing clients.
• Assist with delivery of ongoing financial planning services.
• Provide support on ad hoc advice requests and planning issues.
• Help prepare client meeting documentation and follow‑up actions.
• Assist with annual review processes and client servicing activities.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Gather and analyse client information and assist in preparing suitability reports.
• Support research on investment, pension, protection and estate planning solutions.
• Progress client work efficiently with paraplanners and client support teams.
