Job summary

Capio Recruitment Financial Planning is seeking a Trainee Financial Adviser in Leeds. You will join a structured training programme, supporting Sales Managers and Advisers while working towards full adviser status and Chartered Financial Adviser status.

You will be mentored by a dedicated team and gain hands-on experience in client meetings, cash flow planning, and progression towards professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Advice required.
• Experience in an IFA or private wealth environment.
• Exposure to client meetings with active client engagement.
• Experience with cash flow planning tools (Voyant) is beneficial.
• CII qualifications preferred, or willingness to work towards conversion.
• Long-term ambition to become a Chartered Financial Adviser.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information simply.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with drive to manage study and development.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, Excel and back-office systems.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing background notes and meeting materials ahead of client meetings.
• Attending client meetings and taking accurate notes.
• Updating client information, asset and income schedules.
• Supporting advisers with policy information, valuation research and other background work.
• Preparing follow-up communications and actions for clients.
• Submitting handovers to the administration team and tracking the client journey through to completion.
• Preparing briefing notes and client correspondence for authorised advisers.
• Supporting core back-office tasks across back-office systems.
• Handling client calls and queries in a timely, professional manner.
• Taking full ownership of meeting scopes following client meetings.
• Using cash flow modelling tools during client meetings.
• Progressively developing the ability to lead client meetings independently.
• Supporting the wider team with inbound queries, meeting preparation and post-meeting activity.
• Booking client calls and meetings on behalf of advisers.
