Trainee Field Technician

Job Role

As our company grows and develops, we are ever-expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a committed Trainee Field Technician to join our Infrastructure Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are looking for a dependable, dedicated and flexible Trainee Field Technician to join our UKAS accredited Materials team. As a member of Materials, it is key that you are able to thrive in a team environment, as well as independently. The fundamental part of the role is to determine the physical properties of a wide range of materials including concrete, earthworks, aggregates and bituminous mixtures to ensure compliance with specifications. All testing will be undertaken in line with a range of British, European and American standards so a good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures is required.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

1. Sampling and testing of construction materials
2. Daily field testing
3. Collection of samples for laboratory testing

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

1. Ability to work alone onsite
2. Responsible attitude towards equipment and vehicle maintenance
3. Good communication skills

Our Materials Testing team perform an extensive range of testing and compliance services across a wide range of construction projects including highways, rail, airfields, ports and harbours, power stations, sports stadiums in addition to new build projects across Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties.
