Astute People in Doncaster is recruiting a Trainee Field Technician/Blasting Operative to join the team serving power stations and Energy from Waste centres across the UK. The role is based in Doncaster but requires extensive travel and overnight stays 5–6 days per week.

The starting salary is £32,100 with an expected OTE of £42,000, reflecting a clear development path in a critical industrial sector. You will join a dynamic team and contribute to high-impact cleaning solutions nationwide.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in hazardous or industrial environments is desirable.
• Full clean UK driving licence is essential.
• Understanding of mechanical maintenance, with relevant qualifications.
• Flexible and willing to stay away 5–6 days per week.
• Pro-active, can-do attitude.
• Happy to travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of Blasting Operatives and Engineers working across the UK's power generation sector to provide industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions.
• Use cleaning technologies to improve efficiency of power stations and process facilities via controlled detonative charges.
• Responsible for the safe transport and use of explosives, working in a close team across the UK with possible weekend work.
• Overtime with a structured training period and competitive salary package.
