Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Trainee Field Service Engineer (Machine Tools) in the Bristol area. The role includes global OEM training and a clear path to become a hands-on technical expert on competitive machine tools.

You will diagnose issues, train customers in operation and safety, perform routine service, and support sales of consumables and tooling. An engineering qualification (HNC/degree) and hands-on mechanical ability are required.

Qualifications

• A suitable engineering qualification - HNC/ Degree.
• Hands-on, mechanically competent, with an understanding of electrical/hydraulic and mechanical drawings and systems.
• Previous field experience in machine tools would be an advantage, or an apprentice-trained engineer.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify machine problems and breakdowns.
• Train customers in operation, maintenance, and safety aspects.
• Routine service of machines and associated equipment.
• Promote consumable sales and maintenance contracts.
• Promote sales of machine tools and associated equipment.
