Job summary

Student Times in Bristol (M5 Corridor) is seeking a Trainee Field Service Engineer to join a global OEM. You will receive formal training to become a hands-on technical expert and progress under a structured development program.

The role involves diagnosing machine issues, training customers, and routine servicing, with opportunities to sell maintenance contracts and equipment. A qualifying engineering degree or HNC is required; field experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification required (HNC or degree).
• Hands-on, mechanically competent with understanding of electrical/hydraulic and mechanical drawings.
• Experience in machine tools is advantageous or apprenticeship-trained.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify machine problems and breakdowns.
• Train customers in operation, maintenance and safety aspects.
• Routine service of machines and equipment.
• Promote consumable sales and maintenance contracts.
