Job summary

Universal Business Team is seeking a hands-on Trainee Security & Data Engineer to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced engineers. You will assist with installations and maintenance of CCTV, alarms, access control and cabling, while gaining exposure to industry-leading technology and training.

You will develop practical skills, read site drawings, complete tests and documentation, and travel as part of a field-based team in the UK.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Basic electrical or data cabling experience required.
• Willingness to travel and work in field-based teams.
• Positive, reliable and safety-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Intercom and Data Cabling installs.
• Pull and terminate cabling to professional standards.
• Read site drawings, perform testing and document results.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles in good order.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic Trainee Security & Data Engineer who’s eager to learn and develop into a skilled professional. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers on installations and maintenance of security and structured cabling systems, gaining exposure to industry-leading technology and on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with the installation of CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Intercom, and Data Cabling systems
• Pull and terminate cabling neatly and efficiently to professional standards
• Learn to read site drawings, complete testing and documentation, and follow safety procedures
• Maintain company equipment and vehicles in good order
