Job summary

Bridgestaff Group is seeking an Estimating Assistant to join our Pre-Construction and Work Winning team. This role welcomes a recent graduate or someone with 1–5 years' experience keen to build a career in estimating, procurement, tendering or pre-construction.

You will work with experienced Estimators to support live tenders by coordinating enquiries, obtaining quotations and maintaining supplier relationships, gaining exposure to the commercial side of civil engineering with training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and administration skills required.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Interest in measuring and taking off quantities from drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and interest in pricing construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings and specs.
• Prepare and manage tender enquiries for subcontract works and materials.
• Contact suppliers/subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Compare quotations to support tender pricing.
• Assist with measuring quantities from drawings.
• Maintain records of supplier information and communications.
• Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with Buying team to support tender progression.
• Meet enquiry deadlines across multiple live tenders.
