Job summary

INDAB JBRP1_UKTJ is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our construction and civil engineering team in the United Kingdom. You will prepare competitive tenders for civil engineering and groundworks packages on major projects, analysing drawings and specifications to define scope and costs.

You will liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, build cost databases, and work with project managers to ensure practical delivery methods are reflected in estimates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in estimating within Building & Civil engineering or groundworks.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of JCT & NEC civil engineering and groundworks packages on major projects.
• Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and build cost databases.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates reflect practical delivery methods.
• Attend pre‑tender and post‑tender meetings as required.
• Maintain and update estimating tools and systems.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

The Candidate

• Proven experience in estimating within the Building & Civil engineering or groundworks sector, preferably on Civils / Energy projects
• Strong understanding of construction methods and pricing
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (not essential)
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• A proactive, driven, and ambitious mindset - keen to grow with the business
