Job summary

Bower Home Finance in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking a trainee equity release adviser to join our UK-wide advisory team. This office-based role offers excellent training, strong earning potential and access to the entire market for mortgage and equity release products.

You will need CeMAP or equivalent and at least 6 months’ financial services experience; other qualifications such as CF7/ER1 or CeRER are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months financial services experience within financial advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CeMAP or equivalent required at minimum.

Responsibilities

• Provide mortgage or equity release advice to clients’ objectives and circumstances.
• Prepare comprehensive recommendations with Key Facts Illustrations and Suitability Reports.
• Promote the company as a leading national advisory firm in its field.
• Coordinate with Compliance and Training departments and keep CRM records up to date.
• Attend CPD training and read material for ongoing professional development.

We are seeking trainee equity release advisers to join our equity release team. You will need the relevant qualifications to join, and previous experience of advice is preferred as is a proven track record.

Bower provides customers expert and quality advice on a range of equity release and later life mortgage products from the whole market and is directly authorised by the FCA.

Bowers enquiries are generated from its own web sites, digital and social marketing channels, plus its many partnerships for customers approaching or in retirement. Bower advises on standard residential mortgages, lifetime mortgages, all equity release products, RIO’s, mortgage and general insurance products.

In summary you will:

• Have excellent support, training and earnings potential
• Have access to all lenders products from the entire market and the best terms and rates
• Be provided with enquiries from Bowers marketing branded channels and Bower Partnerships
• Have a dedicated PA to support you and manage your cases from application to completion
• Have pre-qualified appointments from Bowers Customer Contact Centre booked in your diary
• Provide advice to clients who own their own homes either on the phone, via video or local visit
• Use Bowers user friendly bespoke CRM, sourcing software & work-flow management system
• Have access to Bowers extensive database for existing customers to advise
• Be provided with Bowers training with in house technical and T&C support
• Have IT and marketing support from Bowers IT and digital marketing department
• Have regular Bower CPD events, Training and Competency and product updates from lenders
• Be part of a growing company and sector

This is an office based role with possible hybrid working.

Locations Available:

The role will include:

• Providing mortgage or equity release advice to each individual’s objectives & circumstances
• Providing clients with comprehensive recommendations with KFI’s and Suitability Reports
• Promoting the company as one of the UK’s leading national advisory companies in its field
• Communicating with Compliance and Training & Competency departments
• Ensuring that records are kept updated using the company’s CRM digital record system
• Adhering at all times to the principles of treating customers fairly and Consumer Duty
• Attending CPD training & reading relevant material for Continued Professional Development

You will need to have experience and qualifications in/of:

• A minimum of 6 months financial services experience within the field of financial advice
• Evidence of sustained sales success and compliant practice with CAS status
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Mandatory minimum or equivalent:

• Certificate in Mortgage Advice (CeMAP)

Advantageous but Non-Mandatory:

• Certificate in Equity Release (CF7 or ER1) or Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER)
• Certificate in Financial Planning (CeFA), FPC or level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning
• Long term care CF8
• Advanced CeMAP or Diploma
