Job summary

Olleco in Newton Abbot is seeking a Trainee Driver to join a growing, planet-saving operation. You will start with accompanying the driver on routes, delivering cooking oil and collecting waste oil, with early starts between 05:00 and 07:00.

As you train, you will progress to independent rounds, learn route management, and work towards completing your Class 2 License in a supportive, safety-first environment. Benefits include pension and more.

Responsibilities

• Progress to smaller rounds in a 3.5t van to learn route management.
• Assist with loading/unloading and cash handling; maintain round sheets.

Job Description

• To start with accompanying the driver on daily rounds throughout our region, delivering fresh cooking oil to restaurants and collecting waste cooking oil to be loaded back onto the lorry
• Interacting with up to 30 customers a day, providing an effective and helpful service
• Once experienced doing own smaller rounds in 3.5 van to learn own round management
• Completion of your Class 2 License
• Ability to work independently, completing cash handling and manage own workload
• Aiding the driver to locate any new locations that require delivery
• Filling out round sheets and invoices with quantities and prices
• Unloading used cooking oil from the vehicles back in the yard
• Loading vehicles with fresh stock ready for the next day
• Working as part of a team to ensure the site runs efficiently and effectively

Please note, this role involves early hours, starting between 05:00 and 07:00 am. As the role can involve moving and carrying weights in excess of 20kgs, we will provide manual handling training and medical screening to the successful candidate.
