Job summary

Travail Employment Group is recruiting a Design Engineer for a world-leading manufacturing company based in Gloucester. The role involves producing manufacturing and design drawings for existing products and bespoke projects, and supporting sales and production through accurate material lists and CAD outputs.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or a strong design background) and is proficient in AutoCAD; SolidEdge experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong working background in a design role.
• Competent in using AutoCAD and a working knowledge of SolidEdge would be an advantage.
• Attention to detail and understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing and design drawings for existing products, as well as bespoke projects.
• Preparing drawings and designs to support the sales and manufacturing process.
• Providing material lists.
• Managing projects and designs from concept stage through to production.

Our client is a market leader within their field supplying to the Aerospace, Automotive and Engineering Industries - due to an increase in their order book they are looking to recruit an additional Design Engineer to join their team.

The role of the Design Engineer will involve:

• Providing manufacturing and design drawings for existing products, as well as bespoke projects
• Preparing drawings and designs to support the sales and manufacturing process
• Providing material lists
• Managing projects and designs from concept stage through to production
• Liaising with customers and Suppliers both within the UK and overseas

Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent) would be useful but will also consider a strong working background within a design role
• Competent in using AutoCAD and a working knowledge of SolidEdge would be an advantage

In addition the successful Design Engineer will have experience of the design / drawing process and will have a high attention to detail. You will also have an knowledge of working to quality standards and have an understanding of the manufacturing process.
