Syntech Recruitment near Woking, Surrey, is seeking a Trainee Credit Controller to join the finance team. This permanent, full-time on-site role offers a 26,000 starting salary and full on-the-job training to develop credit control and accounts receivable skills.

Ideal for school/college leavers or finance graduates with an interest in pursuing AAT or similar qualifications, you will gain hands-on experience while contributing to financial processes and customer payments.

Qualifications

• Interest in developing a long-term career within finance.
• Educational background in Finance, Accounting or Business is advantageous.
• Interest in pursuing AAT or related qualification is welcomed.
• Confident telephone manner and able to speak with customers.
• Willingness to pick up the phone and chase payments.

Responsibilities

• Chase outstanding payments by phone and email.
• Build relationships with customers while ensuring timely payments.
• Speak professionally with customers and directors at various levels.
• Maintain accurate customer records and account notes.
• Update information using finance and ERP systems.
• Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts.
• Resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Monitor payment due dates and outstanding invoices.
• Provide general finance administration support to the team.
• Ensure records are accurate and internal processes are followed.
