North Warwickshire Citizens Advice Bureau is seeking a Trainee Community Energy Advisor to support energy projects and outreach across the NWCA service area. Context of role:
North Warwickshire Citizens Advice (NWCA) is recruiting a Trainee Energy Advisor to support the broad range of existing Energy Projects within our Advice Service. NWCA provides a free, independent, impartial and confidential advice and advocacy service to the citizens of North Warwickshire, a rural area covering an area of 110 square miles. NWCA also recruit and train volunteers to carry out casework with clients. Our volunteers go through accredited, nationally recognised training. NWCA actively research and campaign on issues affecting clients and the voluntary sector and contribute towards the development of the third sector in North Warwickshire and the county.
Ideally you will have some experience of giving advice or support, and of working with vulnerable clients. You will be committed to excellent client care, highly organised and self-motivated, able to maintain high advice quality standards.
As a Trainee Energy Advisor, you will complete Citizens Advice Energy Training and other training modules to enable you to advise and support clients who access the service for help with a range of issues relating to the current energy crisis, including energy efficiency, meters, billing, behaviour change and renewable energy.
You will help with income maximisation, identify energy grant support, help access fuel vouchers and support clients take practical steps to tackle fuel poverty.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and a flexible team player, with excellent communication skills.

The purpose of the post is to train and develop an advisor to work across all energy projects and support energy outreach sessions when needed. The adviser will deliver generalist advice including welfare benefits and debt, with a focus on combating fuel poverty, maximising income for clients and meeting any energy project targets.
