Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting three Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners to join the Cornwall CAMHS team in Mid Cornwall. The role combines education-based training with practical service delivery for children and young people.

The programme starts January 2025 and runs for 12 months, with supervision and a university-led curriculum. Successful candidates will gain experience in evidence-based interventions within CAMHS settings.

Qualifications

  • All applicants must demonstrate in their application the ability to work at degree level or have an equivalent level of relevant experience, with a proven record of previous learning or formal study in child development, wellbeing or mental health.
  • Further to that experience of working with children and young people and an understanding of children's mental health is desirable.
  • The training programme for this post starts in January 2025, is 12 months in duration and will consist of academic and supervised practice learning offering evidence based psychological interventions for children and young people within the CAMHS 'Getting help' pathways.
  • Delivery of the programme will be provided through a combination of taught days within a University, independent self-guided study days and experience gained in education wellbeing and mainstream mental health services

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work in a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team delivering supervised, high-quality interventions for children and young people.
  • Attend university-based taught and self-study days as required by the education provider while working in the service for the remaining days.
  • Participate in a 12-month training programme starting January 2025 to gain competence in evidence-based early interventions.
