Job summary

Pertemps Leeds is recruiting a Trainee Chemical Engineer in Uttoxeter. The role involves field and office-based work, with travel across the UK and offshore assignments. It offers full technical training and a clear path to develop expertise in gas measurement and quality reporting.

You will join a team performing inspections, calibrations and data analysis, progressing through practical site work and technical reporting while supporting customers in safety and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs and/or A-levels or degree in Mathematics and Science.
• Strong foundation in maths and science; practical aptitude.
• Willing to learn with full technical training provided.
• Willing to travel across the UK, offshore and internationally.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out performance evaluations of gas chromatographs in accordance with ISO 10723:2012.
• Undertaking inspections of gas quality measurement systems within the company's ISO 17020-accredited service.
• Calibrating and validating other gas quality instrumentation at customer sites.
• Analysing results and producing clear, accurate technical reports to support customers' compliance requirements.
• Preparing reference gas mixtures and verifying contents using accredited procedures.
• Coordinating with Sales, Logistics and other departments to deliver a reliable service.
• Maintaining accurate technical records and documentation per the quality system.
• Supporting audits where required.
