HR GO Recruitment in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a motivated Trainee CAD Technician to join our design team. The role focuses on 2D CAD drawing, translating sketches into CAD, and learning 3D modelling/BIM workflows with training provided.

You will work under guidance, gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and drawing standards, and progress into 3D/BIM roles as you develop technical skills.

TRAINEE CAD Technician

We are seeking a motivated CAD Technician to join our design team. This role is ideal for candidates with 2D CAD experience and for trainees looking to develop a career in technical drawing and BIM workflows. MEP Sector would be highly considered.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and revise accurate 2D technical drawings and drafting documentation
• Translate sketches, site information and engineering details into CAD format
• Follow drawing standards and layer management procedures
• Support engineers and designers with drawing updates and revisions
• Prepare drawing packs for issue and coordinate document control
• Learn and adopt 3D modelling/BIM tools as required (training provided)

Skills and experience

• Basic proficiency with 2D CAD software - autoCAD users
• Strong attention to detail and good numeracy
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new software and techniques (Revit/3D training available)
• Relevant technical qualification or demonstrable practical experience advantageous but not required
