Digitaleng is looking for a Trainee BIM Technician (Revit MEP) in Liverpool. This entry-level role offers hands-on learning in BIM within the building services sector, reporting to the BIM Director and supported by experienced Coordinators.

You will work on 2D drawings and 3D BIM models across RIBA Stages 3-5, following BEPs, and project workflows. You will gain exposure to live UK projects, learn to apply company standards, and develop skills through mentoring and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Motivation to learn BIM, Revit and MEP design.
• Team player with clear communication.
• Basic knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD or CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for MEP systems (mechanical/electrical/plumbing).
• Support model development from engineer mark-ups, sketches, specs and project info.
• Learn to apply company/client standards in drawings/models.
• Carry out basic model/drawing checks for accuracy before issue.
• Help maintain Revit models and drawing packages as projects progress.
• Coordinate with team to gather reference information and resolve design queries.
• Support BIM coordination activities and attend internal workshops/meetings.

Job description

We are looking for a Trainee BIM Technician (Revit MEP) to join our growing team in Liverpool. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someonewho is keen to start a career in Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the building services sector.

Reporting to the BIM Director and supported by experienced BIM Coordinators and Technicians, you will learn how to use Revit to create andupdate 2D and 3D MEP models and produce drawings across RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5, following company standards, client requirements,BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and project workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the production of 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for MEP systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing/public health, and containment.
• Support the team in developing models and drawings from engineer mark-ups, sketches, specifications, and project information.
• Learn to apply company and client standards when creating and updating drawings and models.
• Carry out basic model and drawing checks to ensure accuracy and completeness before issue.
• Help maintain and update Revit models and drawing packages as projects progress.
• Work with other team members to gather reference information and resolve design queries.
• Support BIM coordination activities and attend internal workshops and project meetings when required.

Person specification

This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn. You should have a genuine interest in BIM, Revit,MEP design, and construction, and be comfortable working as part of a team.

We are looking for someone who can follow instructions, manage tasks responsibly, and communicate clearly with colleagues.

• Basic knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, or other CAD software
• Interest in building services (mechanical / electrical / plumbing)
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
• Willingness to learn company standards and BIM processes
