Job summary

First Group in Blantyre is looking for a Trainee Bus Driver. No previous bus driving experience is required; if you hold a full UK driving licence and enjoy helping people, we will provide fully paid training to become a qualified professional driver.

This is a full-time permanent role with guaranteed contracted hours and structured rotas. You’ll operate local bus services across Blantyre and surrounding areas, delivering a safe, reliable journey for customers.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months
• Maximum of 6 penalty points
• Minimum age of 18
• Right to work in the UK
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Flexible approach to shiftwork
• No PCV licence is required, full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate local bus services across Blantyre and surrounding areas.
• Maintain safety, professionalism and reliability in all passenger interactions.
• Contribute to Scotland's connectivity by providing a safe and comfortable journey experience.
• Shifts are rota-based over 5 days, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
