Job summary

Stagecoach Rugby Depot in Rugby is recruiting for a Level 2 Bus Driver Apprentice. You will train to obtain your PCV licence through a fully funded apprenticeship and earn while you learn. Initially paid training (£16.22 per hour), with progression to a full driver role offering a competitive salary and benefits.

Based at the Rugby depot, you’ll join a 100+ drivers team, with 42 buses operating in the Coventry, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire areas. Shift patterns include 5 out of 7 days.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Training provided to help you gain PCV licence.
• Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship qualification offered.
• Must be 18+ and hold a UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points).

Responsibilities

• Complete industry-leading training and obtain PCV licence as part of Level 2 Apprenticeship.
• Drive Stagecoach fleet safely and confidently.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming journey for all.
• Help customers feel safe and supported on their journey.
• Be flexible with shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Contribute to a positive team environment at Rugby depot.

• Pay rate during training of £16.22 per hour (training will last around 6 – 8 weeks)
• Annual earnings of £34,881 following completion of training based on 39 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver
• Shift patterns of 5 out of 7 days

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British overseas territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application)
• A patient, safe and courteous approach
• Being the face of Stagecoach, a positive, friendly attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service
• A willingness to learn and be part of a brilliant team
