Job summary

Stagecoach Slatyford Depot in Newcastle upon Tyne is recruiting for a Bus Driver Apprenticeship. You will train to obtain your PCV licence through a Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship and then drive our fleet with safety and exceptional customer service at the core.

No prior driving experience is required as training is fully funded, with progression to a permanent role and ongoing CPC/skill development. You must be 18+, hold a UK licence with ≤6 penalty points, and be ready to learn.

Responsibilities

Salary

£13.68 rising to £14.20 following completion of training and £16.90 after one year

• Earn while you learn, we provide fully paid training to help you gain your PCV licence and enhancing your learning through a Level 2 Apprenticeship Qualification.
• Based at our Slatyford depot, located at Slatyford Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2SE
• Pay rate during training of £13.68 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks)
• Annual earnings of £27,320 following completion of training, rising to £32,516 after 1 year of service based on 37 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver. Overtime opportunities available to boost earnings paid at an enhanced rate
• Shift patterns of Early, Middle and Late shifts, any 5 days out of 7

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points

• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British overseas territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application)
