Job summary

Stagecoach Group in Oldham is recruiting friendly, safety‑mocused drivers. No prior bus experience needed—we’ll train and fund your PCV licence and provide a Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship alongside our own programme. Earn while you learn with competitive hourly rates and a supportive team environment.

Trainings costs are covered, with progression to roles such as Inspector or Controller. You’ll work 5 days out of 7, serving the Greater Manchester area from the Oldham depot, contributing to

Qualifications

• You must be 18 years old or older and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK with DVLA residency requirement of at least 183 days.
• A patient, safe and courteous approach to driving.
• A positive, friendly attitude and passion for delivering great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Complete training and achieve PCV licence with Stagecoach.
• Drive the fleet safely and confidently to ensure passenger journeys are smooth.
• Deliver top‑notch customer service and make every passenger feel welcome.
• Create a welcoming environment for all passengers and assist those who rely on us.
• Work flexible shifts (5 days over 7) including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Participate in Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship and ongoing CPC training.

Job description

£19.06 per hour with valid PCV licence or after 9 months service. £16.02 per hour after training (Monday to Friday) £18.41 per hour (Saturday & Sunday)£14.30 per hour during training, Pay rate during training of £14.30 per hour increasing to £16.02 per hour (Monday to Friday) & £18.41 (Saturday & Sunday) after training
