Job summary

First Bus is seeking a Trainee Bus Driver in Port Talbot. You will join a leading UK bus operator with training provided to become a qualified driver. Enjoy guaranteed contracted hours and a rota planned in advance, with a mix of morning, evening and weekend shifts in a supportive, customer-focused environment.

Starting pay is £14.32 per hour, rising to £14.75 after 12 months, with opportunities for overtime where available and a clear path to progression within a stable full-time role.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to shift work.
• No PCV licence is required, full training is provided.
• Background checks will form part of the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Operate local bus services across Port Talbot and the surrounding areas, helping people get to work, education, appointments, shopping and days out.

You’ll start on £14.32 per hour, increasing to £14.75 once qualified after 12 months. This is a full-time, permanent role with guaranteed contracted hours and rotas planned in advance, giving you stability and flexibility around your working week. You’ll work a variety of morning, evening and weekend shifts, with weekday time off built into your rota, plus opportunities for overtime to increase your earnings where available.
